Description
An exciting opportunity for a registered CA (SA) to join a fast growth VC funded SaaS company as the Financial & Operations Manager. The company has recently raised an impressive seed round and is growing its client base at breakneck speeds in the US market. The role will report directly to the CFO. The successful candidate will need to show growth potential as they will be required to grow professionally as the role progresses in seniority as the company continues to grow.
The role will cover a broad range of responsibilities which will include the overall financial management of the company, overseeing the implementation of commercial and operational initiatives, establishing and building BI reporting & analysis, as well as general operations management.
The role is a remote first position and requires a candidate who is able to work effectively with team members through remote channels.
Duties & Responsibilities
Finance
- Preparation and Reporting of monthly management accounts, month-end processes, financial forecast and scenario modelling.
- Management of day-to-day finance operations, including invoicing and payroll.
- Management of outside service providers for tax preparation and auditing.
- Management of procurement (including payments), revenue cycle, and regulatory compliance (such as VAT and PAYE).
Commercial
- Preparation of company performance reports.
- Review of company contracts to ensure any and all risks are mitigated alongside the Legal Team.
- Reduce overdue Accounts Receivables.
- Optimisation and management of commercial system setup, including review of invoicing, automated flows and error investigation (including vendor liaison).
Operations
- SaaS ops management and continuous auditing of SaaS tools.
- Manage company assets, the maximization of usage thereof and ensure they are kept in good state.
- Manage the operational aspects of data and information security policies.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- SAICA Articles Completed (preferably Big 4).
- Registered CA(SA).
- 3 - 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong experience in SaaS or e-commerce industries and/or environments.
- Experience with Power BI (beneficial).
- Knowledge of IFRS and/or GAAP (preferable).
- Experience in working in an international organisation, dealing with transfer pricing, SARB approval and cross-border intercompany transactions (beneficial).
