Description
We’re seeking a recently qualified Financial Accountant who would join a well established Finance Team at a mid sized Internet Service provider in Cape Town. This role is a great opportunity for a candidate with 0-3 years of experience post completion of SAIPA articles. You will assist the Finance Manager with their day to day financial accounting functions and assist the CFO with ad-hoc tasks as required.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Processing of suppliers invoices and monthly supplier statement reconciliations.
- Performing weekly and monthly bank reconciliations.
- You will assist with the stock control functions and help out with monthly stock takes.
- Prepare month end balance sheet reconciliations including VAT reconciliations and preparations of VAT returns, PAYE and other necessary SARS requirements.
- Prepare month end journals including fixed assets, prepayments, income and expense accruals.
- Prepare monthly cash flow summaries and other month end processes including any analysis of specific accounts as required.
- Assist the Finance Manager in preparing detailed budgets and forecasts for cash flow and in any other task that will be required, with the necessary guidance given.
- Support the annual financial audit process.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of internal controls, processes and financial systems - ensuring that Mainstream global processes and controls are adhered to.
- Be able to work with department managers and directors in an appropriate manner.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Bachelor of Commerce undergraduate degree
- Completed 3 years of SAIPA articles
- 0-3 years post articles experience
- Xero Accounting software and Simplepay experience is preferred
- Very proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Driver’s license and own transport is required
Package & Remuneration
R25 000 - R30 000 per month.
