Description
We have an exciting and challenging Farm Manager position with exposure to various crops on farms in the Riebeek Kasteel for someone with a passion for people and the farming aspect of a business!
Duties & Responsibilities
Requirements:
- A degree / Diploma in an appropriate field of study
- At least 8 - 10 years’ experience
- Work knowledge of fruit production, organizational skills, very neat and time management skills
- Strong management experience and able to work independently as well as parallel with (CEO) owner
- Strong irrigation, fertilizing and pest control experience
- Strong working knowledge of primary table grapes. Stone Fruit experience will be to your advantage.
- Must be able to work and perform under pressure
- Budget and costing experience
- Live on the main operating farm
Responsibilities:
- Personnel management and development and motivation
- Management of production unit parallel with CEO (owner)
- Handling of audits parallel with office assistance
- Management of daily farm activities
- Budget Management / Cost Management of certain aspects of the business
- Management of fertilizer and pest control programs parallel with CEO (owner)
- Scheduling of irrigation
- Admin
