Description

To ensure the smooth running of the Buildings. Provides financial, technical management and expertise on the company portfolio either directly or through the selection and management of outsourced service  providers

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plans, co-ordinates and controls all property-, technical-, and facilities management activities
  • Management of new equipment, technology, materials and work methods together with techniques
  • Management and replacement of dated technology and asset management
  • Delivery of high value-added recommendations to the client
  • Compiles monthly management reports
  • Administration and Management of designated Portfolio professionally and effectively,
  • To effectively manage stock control
  • To effectively manage quality control and timekeeping
  • Responsible for compiling budgets for Repairs & Maintenance and Soft Services for their respective Portfolios
  • Effective management and control of energy and general utilities in the respective portfolios
  • Effective management & control of risks
  • Monitoring and management of generators at all levels
  • Control of risks as defined in the Occupational Health & Safety Act
  • Building maintenance with regards to assets
  • The ability to demonstrate and prove financial savings within executing all tasks
  • Understand and manage all emergency procedures and policies
  • Respond and oversee the emergency situation in accordance with emergency procedures.
  • Comprehensively inspect and compile building inspection reports
  • Interact with campaign directors and service providers and maintain relationships
  • Management of all maintenance / technical staff
  • Management of all relevant service providers and Service Level Agreements     
  • Provide after-hours facilities / technical support / assistance on site or remotely as deemed appropriate by the head of Facilities Department.
  • Ensure that all visitors, service providers and campaigns comply with the house rules and trading hours.

 

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  •  Formal Qualification in Property Management or Facilities Management –
  • Minimum of 5 years practical experience in a Facilities Management environment as a Facilities Manager
  • Full Function OHASA & Evacuation Management qualification / certification
  • Proven knowledge and experience in full function management with BMS Systems, Generators, HVAC systems, Fire Systems
  • Ability to work without supervision
  • Teamwork and Accountability
  • Project management
  • Computer literate – MS Office and CMMS software
  • Property, Facilities & Technical ability
  • Demonstrate responsibility in terms of Corporate Citizenship & Carbon Credit Management
  • Budget management ability
  • Driver’s license, with no endorsements
  • Clear criminal record
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and people skills,
  • Excellent Report Writing skills and good written and spoken English
  • The ability to coordinate, plan and  time manage
  • The ability to work under pressure
  • A service excellence attitude is a pre-requisite
  • Accurate record keeping and excellent admin / filing skills a great advantage
