Description
Waterberg Academy is an Eco-School 45 minutes from Modimolle, Limpopo, set on a 10-hectare property in the heart of the beautiful UNESCO Waterberg Biosphere Reserve. The school is part of the Eco-Schools Association, one of the world’s largest sustainable schools programmes.
The school offers accommodation in a flatlet at the school, plus three free meals a day, in exchange for some hostel duties. Class sizes are small, and remuneration is competitive.
We need a Gr 8-12 English locum from 17 July to 22 September 2023. Retired teachers with recent Gr 12 English teaching experience will also be considered. The position will suit someone who would enjoy ten weeks of living and working in an Eco-School in the relatively undisturbed indigenous Waterberg mountain bushveld.
Responsibilities
Non-negotiable requirements for the position:
- Academic and professional qualifications to teach English up to Gr 12
- At least two years’ experience teaching Gr 12 English
- SACE registration, police clearance, etc.
