Educational Psychologist
JUNIOR SCHOOL
Position Available from Term 2 2023, negotiable
We are looking for a school psychologist who will be required to work with Staff and Students from Grades 0 to 7.
This position involves working closely with other members of a team, including other psychologists, therapists, parents, and teachers in order to ensure that comprehensive support programmes are offered by the school
Responsibilities
In addition to counselling and case management responsibilities, the incumbent will be required to:
- Collaborate closely with the multi-disciplinary team;
- Work proactively to promote wellness;
- Oversee an Academic Support programme, including referrals to other therapists within and external to multi-disciplinary teams;
- Have a thorough understanding of academic assessments;
- Manage crises;
- Present talks;
- Facilitate workshops;
- Perform a variety of administrative functions.
Applying Instructions
Applicants need to have a suitable postgraduate qualification and experience working therapeutically with children and young adolescents, and should also:
- Have an interest and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively and confidentially within a school-based support team;
- Be able to interact with integrity with different stakeholders in the school;
- Be available after hours when required;
- School-based experience will be an advantage
The successful candidate must hold current membership and registration with the appropriate professional authorities, as well as be registered with SACE
