Contract duration: 7 months Fixed Term Contract

8 X District Technical Co-ordinators (Amathole District, Nelson Mandela, Bay, Buffalo City, OR Tambo, Chris Hani, Alfred Nzo, Sarah Baartman, and Joe Gqabi)
Position:
This is a key role in the districts Covid-19 vaccine rollout with core teams supporting vaccine roll-out in the districts in line with the national strategy.
Duties & Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works closely with all members of the team to ensure that vaccination sites are functioning optimally and at prescribed standards for quality of care;
- Works closely with the vaccination Site Managers to ensure that all vaccination sites are performing the targeted number of vaccinations per day;
- Supports the vaccination Site Managers and ensures the establishment of the vaccination sites is in line with the Vaccine Delivery Unit (VDU);
- Supports the districts in ensuring that the establishment of the vaccination sites is in line with the established national guidelines;
- Capacitates and trains the vaccine Site Managers to conduct their own site readiness assessments;
- Supports the Vaccination Manager with service delivery and quality improvement (QI) and ensures that there is sharing of best practices across the vaccination sites in the district;
- Identifies deficiencies in the operation of vaccination sites, designs QI strategies and supports the vaccination Site Managers in implementing the QI activities;
- Puts in place a contingency plan to manage extra vaccine stock at a vaccination site. This includes maintaining a reserve list to ensure the vaccine is not wasted;
- Co-ordinates with the Logistics and Cold Chain Provincial Support Facilitators to ensure that there are enough needle and syringe supplies;
Desired Experience & Qualification
Educational Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required:
- Degree in Public Health or related field with strong project management skills;
- Experience in a supervisory management role of 5 years and more;
- Knowledge of Quality Improvement methodologies;
- 5 years of mentoring experience;
- Valid driver’s licence;
- Facilitation skills;
- Computer skills;
- Good understanding of the district health system and some familiarity with the COVID-19 vaccine roll out process;

Package & Remuneration
R25,000-00 to R30,000-00 per month depending on qualifications and experience.
