Duties & Responsibilities

  • The Team Leader will be expected to take responsibility for the management of the 6 staff members, while the Team Leader will report directly to the Disease Management Manager.
  • All relevant staff management functions - KPA, meetings, development
  • Attend team leader meetings and applicable meetings when scheduled
  • Have regular meetings with the staff in the department
  • With the support of the DM Manager, the Team Leader will be involved in staff performance evaluations and guidance as well as disciplinary issues.
  • To ensure colleague satisfaction, supply support and assistance to the disease management department
  • Operational support where and when required in liaison with the DM manager
  • The Team Leader will ensure all training is up to date, identify training needs and liaise with the relevant departments to obtain the required training.
  • To ensure colleague satisfaction with regards to disease management correspondence and interaction
  • Ensure good quality of service delivery
  • The Team Leader will be responsible for quality assurance within the department on all communication and processes on BIT and Chroniline as well as take corrective action when required.
  • Ensure dept stays within SLA and each member delivers daily output
  • Do daily and weekly reporting on QA, SLA, staff performance and output
  • The Team Leader will be responsible for Level 3 escalations as per MHC policy, while the Manager will still be responsible for Level 1 and 2 escalations.
  • The Team Leader will review applicable clinical cases, ad hoc related requests eg review of guides when required up to a certain level of responsibility.
  • Ad hoc support applicable to the function, when required

 

Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualification - Essential

  • Grade 12
  • Clinical degree

 

Qualification - Preferred

  • Bcur degree

 

Experience - Essential

  • Minimum 8-10 years disease management and managed healthcare experience
  • Minimum 2 years team leader experience
  • Minimum 2 years staff QA experience

 

Experience - Preferred

  • Minimum 1 year Oncology experience required
