Description
Our client in the retail sector is looking for a well experienced Data Analyst in the Kuilsriver area
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in the interpretation of functional data analytics across functional areas to identify insightful trends and information to support decision making
- To obtain the analytical needs of the functional areas and to assist in the delivery a reporting and dashboard solution within agreed time frames.
- To identify new or improved reporting methods and techniques on an ongoing basis as required by business
- Work closely with system managers and subject matter experts to ensure alignment to company systems strategy and delivery in accordance with the Data strategy.
- To support the overall data strategy for the business by assisting with key deliverables as per the strategic intent within agreed timeframes
Desired Experience & Qualification
Knowledge required:
- An understanding of retail metrics and KPI’s
- Understanding of economics of retail in South Africa.
- An understanding of retail business systems.
- Fluent in MS Office products (Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
- Knowledge of Business Intelligence visualisation practices.
- Experience in creating visualisations in QlikSense.

Experience required: Essential:
- 3-5 years previous working experience within a retail business envronment
- 2-3 years report writing experience, as well as experience in preparing statistics and data visualisations relevant to the business function (Qlik and PowerBI)
- 2-3 years data analysis experience, interpreting trends in the business and identifying opportunities or risks (within a Qlik environment)
Preferred:
- 2-3 years experience in working with BI tools (Qlik and Power BI)
- Have a general understanding of data architectures and Cloud technology
- Have a general understanding of SQL or similar coding/scripting techniques.
Qualifications
- A Grade 12 Certificate/Matric
- A relevant tertiary qualification/business degree preferably with the following subjects:
- Statistics
- Economics
- Mathematics
