Description

To ensure all non-financial data in WastePlan’s group of companies is accurately captured and all supporting documents are loaded on the company’s system and available electronically. Data Administrators are responsible for the verification and audit of all non-financial data in our organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Duties:

  • Data collection
    • Ensure that capturing deadlines are met and all required data is captured and approved on the company’s electronic system and within the department’s deadlines (as stipulated in the department’s SLA)

      This includes

      • Commercial waste stream data (including mobile data reports)
      • Vendor weighbridge slips (material passing through our MRFs and material traded directly on vendor/buyer premises)
      • MRF weighbridge slips (incoming, outgoing and transferred material)
      • MRF production and stock information
      • Safe disposal documents
      • Selected Transport, IT, HR, CRM and Sales documents
    • Follow up on outstanding documents and collection requests
    • Manual capturing of additional data
    • Gathering and capturing of data from third-party service providers
    • Provide regular communication on any issues and/or delays (daily or weekly)
    • Ensure that required documentation is electronically available and paper versions reach the department’s regional offices on a weekly basis
    • Monitor unconfirmed collections on the collections console and report discrepancies to the line manager, weighbridge operator and/or the Transport Controller
  • Daily management of MRF Data Capturers
    • Monitor the performance of our Data Capturers in the MRF’s by checking the capturing reports on a daily basis, and highlight possible issues to the line manager
    • Assist the Data Capturers by requesting outstanding documentation from the operational staff
    • Assist with resolving any issues occurring in or highlighted by the data capturing operation at the MRFs

 

  • Reporting
    • Report all collections and weighbridge slips with a discrepancy of more than 15% using the company’s electronic data application
    • Follow up on reported discrepancies to ensure timeous feedback
    • Escalate reported slips if feedback is not received within 5 days, and use the available tools to rectify these slips if they are about to breach the Data SLA.
    • Compile or assist with compilation of monthly client reports
    • Compile or assist with compilation of ad-hoc data reports

 

Secondary Duties:

  • Assist with service provider data capturing when required
  • Filing of sorter data sheets when required
  • Assist with client communication when required
  • Create new clients on reporting platform when required
  • Send client credentials and client portal instructions to new clients when required
  • Assist with configuration of the waste stream and bin collection settings per client
  • Assist with the creation of safe disposal certificates when required

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Matric / Grade 12.
  • Minimum 1-3 years working experience in a similar role
  • Relevant qualifications and experience, knowledge and skill
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential
  • SQL-knowledge is an advantage
  • Must be well presented, professional and have excellent communication skills.
