Founded in 1896 and set in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, Michaelhouse is a leading Anglican Independent senior Boarding School for boys from Grade 8 to Grade 12

We invite suitably experienced candidates to apply for the full-time position of Creditors’ Controller in our Finance department, to begin work as soon as possible.

 

Responsibilities

MAIN DELIVERABLES:

  • Full creditor’s function across the organisation and ensure that all creditors are paid accurately and timeously.
  • Daily processing of supplier invoices and matching to GRNs.
  • Reconciliation of creditors statements to the creditors ledger.
  • Liaison between senior departmental managers and suppliers to resolve queries.
  • Prepare and reconcile VAT to the general ledger.
  • Management of Approved Supplier list.
  • Source reliable suppliers and obtain the most cost effective quotations.
  • Ensure procurement orders are received, following the agreed stock management procedure for
    new stock deliveries.
  • Perform administration duties ensuring monthly deadlines are adhered to, preparation of annual audit
    schedules, filing etc.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Relevant finance/ bookkeeping qualification/s or certifications
  • A minimum of 3 years prior experience in a similar creditors’ function within a corporate/ office/ school or other environment is essential
  • Hands on knowledge of Sage Evolution or similar accounting systems is essential
  • Extensive knowledge of creditors’ processes
  • Computer literacy is essential (particularly Outlook, MS Excel, and Word)

IMPORTANT CONDITIONS:

  • As accommodation is not provided onsite, this position would be best suited to someone already resident within reasonable travelling distance of Michaelhouse
  • The requisite working hours are 07h30 – 16h00, Monday to Friday
  • 30 days annual leave entitlement
  • Due to the nature of the role, it may be a requirement, on occasion, to work after hours
