Description
An international technology group is looking for a Country & Sales Manager specialising in Orthopaedics within Southern Africa to join their team.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan and implement actions to achieve agreed business objectives.
- Input into the preparation of and implement the annual Business Plan achieving sales targets set through implementing strategies achieving maximum growth and profit for the company
- Gather & seek out information about customers, competitors and the market and ensure it is communicated appropriately to the sales team and those records are up to date
- Monitoring of the tender environment nationally, and the reimbursement status for company product groups and pipeline products
- Monitoring and evaluation legal and political changes (e.g. National Health System and ramifications on business)
- Mentoring, training and managing of product specialists in South Africa
- Develop and maintain a reliable, comprehensive customer database of information
- Develop/maintain KOL relationships to ensure customer satisfaction status
- Develop implementation strategies for new projects and products
- Develop strategic & tactical expansion plans of the company’s business
- Prepare and present company presentations and information sessions
- Review and Outlook reporting to Global Manager
- Attend sales meetings and professional association meetings, occasionally outside of working hours
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Degree, in a medical discipline or other relevant scientific field of study
- Additional Financial / Sales / Management qualification will be advantageous
- Minimum 5 years sales experience in orthopaedic medical device theatre industry.
- Good knowledge of orthopedic business environment, including technical knowledge of products and indications within reconstructive joint replacement surgery
- Experience in sales management, product training, reimbursement
- A successful track record in complex Medtech or Pharma sales processes, as well as Sales Management experience, training and mentoring with a proven track record
- Experience in reading sales figures, understanding the contents, generating the right questions, drilling deeper into understanding the sales patterns and developing a POA self / for the team is imperative.
- Successful experience of tendering process with a full understanding of timescales and terminology used.
- Self motivated, focused and methodical. Have the ability to work alone yet readily communicate and share knowledge team. Be able to turn strategy into actionable implementation.
- A professional approach to business, good presentation & strong People Skills.
