Description
We're seeking a Country Medical Lead Permanent Position - Johannesburg. The Country Medical Lead is a senior specialist role that leads and manages the Country medical strategy and objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities
- They will evaluate and define a portfolio approach for Science value creation across county teams, ensuring clear priorities are defined for all
Science Affairs - They will build an attractive vision for the country activities and energize the organization
behind it. - Evaluate & define a portfolio approach for Medical value creation
- Promote scientific innovation opportunities across our portfolio through proactive cross-functional contribution to global strategic medical brand plans.
- Openly exchange with internal & external stakeholders to build on innovative
concepts. - Proactively build key networks, reliable and trusted relationships
- Support the Country Science Affairs Head with life cycle management and risk mitigation activities for local and global brands as applicable.
- Support the team creating an environment for professional growth for team members
- Support in driving the transformation journey through by integrating all functions together ensuring and promoting one Science voice
- Ensure delivery of medical commitments at a local level by clearly defining the desired outcome(s) from prioritized activities defined in medical strategies, and define operational milestones to deliver on these medical commitments
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Pharmacy or Medicine (BPharm; MBChB), BSc (Pharmacology – Masters)
- Current and valid certification with the appropriate professional council.
- 5+ years’ experience working in the pharmaceutical industry
- 3-5 years’ experience Medical Affairs role Leadership
- Excellent understanding of the consumer healthcare and pharmaceutical industry,drug development environment, and R&D processes and objectives
- Knowledge of the local Consumer Health environment (regulatory, regional Industry
Associations, Public & Government affairs), an advantage
