Duties & Responsibilities

The Corporate Accountants role is to be responsible for ensuring the process of timely and accurate financial reporting for all group entities; including period-end management accounts and year-end statutory accounts. Supports the Financial Manager with consolidated budgets, forecasts, interpreting financial results. Responsible for internal and external reporting by collaborating with various stakeholders in the business where necessary.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

PERIOD-END REPORTING:

— Accurate and timely reporting of Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts in line with Group reporting timetable, including the preparation and review of Balance Sheet reconciliations
— Preparing of corporate accounts journals and preparation of any further/adjusting period-end journal
— Manages the intercompany process
— Variance analysis of actual monthly results for all corporate accounts to latest forecast and budgets
— Presenting Corporate results to various stakeholders.
— Managing the corporate recharge accounts on a monthly basis.
— Assist Financial Manager with the preparation of AFS
— Assist Financial Manager with tax calculation
— Look to improve internal processes and controls

FORECASTS AND BUDGETS:

— Preparing of Corporate Budget/ Forecast
— Preparation of the budget pack and supporting schedules for corporate cost centers

FINANCIAL REPORTING:

— Assistance with internal and external audits
— Preparation of quarterly Board and Exco Financial input for packs
— External/other stakeholder reporting
— Fixed Assets Control

TAX:

— Ensures tax compliance in the following areas: Income tax, VAT and PAYE
— Preparing reconciliation for VAT, PAYE and income tax

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Bomm articles with 3 - 5 years experience in an Accounting role for a large corporate or multinational company with very strong Excel skills
  • A hands on approach and strong reconcilliation skills to assist with clearing backlog due to systems change and work in a high pressure environment.
  • Excellent people management skills and ability to work with people on all levels of the business
  • Proactive, organised and strong personal drive
  • Adaptable and resourceful in an ever changing environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Building and maintaining relationships

Package & Remuneration

R600 000 negotiable on experience
