Description
We are looking for an experienced CAMP MANAGER to join this well-known hospitality group with luxury lodges located in Kruger National Park. The Camp Manager supports the Lodge Manager and enables the lodge to provide efficient guest service and to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all our guests.
A high level of focus on Guest Experience and staff management of the Guest Relations team. A focus also will be on the Administration and Inventory Control of the Lodge.
Key Focus Areas:
GUEST EXPERIENCE
- Ensure that all guests are greeted, checked in and allocated rooms promptly and courteously.
- Ensure that all arrival and check in procedures are strictly adhered to.
- Be readily available at all times to deal with problems and complaints.
- Ensure effective and speedy check out facilities.
- Ensure that luggage is delivered to and collect from the guest rooms quickly.
- Ensure that the Front Desk complete their administrative work accurately, according to Standard Operating Procedures, and in good time
- Ensure maximum security in all areas under your control including Guest vehicle keys.
- Ensure that staff does not loiter at the front desk- reception area.
- Ensure that all lodge maintenance requirements are carried out timeously and to the correct standard.
- Ensure that all housekeeping standards, public areas, rooms and back of house areas, are maintained at the stipulated Company level.
- Fill-in as the Lodge Manager when required.
- Provide feedback to guests and agents timeously.
- Assist in co-ordinating group functions.
- Liaise with Guests and maintain effective communication with them, including personalised correspondence.
- Ensure that complaints, comments or problems are actioned without delay and that effective follow-up action takes place to avoid a recurrence.
- Ensure that lodge Guest Experience levels are met and maintained consistently.
- Ensure that the daily Guest Experience is designed and implemented consistently.
- Circulate regularly throughout all the Front of House areas, maintaining a high profile with guests and staff
INVENTORY CONTROL
- Manage and maintain the company’s inventory including stock profiles and stock locations.
- Manage and control perpetual inventory stock counting/inventory accuracy checks.
- Minimise overstocks and removal of obsolete/redundant stock to maximize availability of working capital.
- Ensure that stock control systems are updated, well organised and controlled to sufficiently record sales, usage, issues and transfers.
- Ensure all incoming stock is receipted and managed appropriately according to company procedure.
- Ensure stocks are ready and available for sales, usage and transfer daily.
- Ensure that any stock that is late or on back order, for whatever reason is chased and followed up until received.
- High value stock items must be checked on a daily basis.
- Provide routine management information on inventory performance.
- Monitor and evaluate consumables usage & costs.
- Maintain procedures for all main inventory control processes and functions.
- Be responsible for managing and running planned stock takes (mid-month and month-end), and perform cyclic stock checks. In conjunction with HODs, ensure stock takes are accurate and completed within required time limits.
- Ensure issues are correct and fully completed and that all stock has been allocated to the relevant lodge/sales area correctly.
- Ensure integrity and accuracy of the stock management system.
- Produce daily reports to ensure key critical areas of the stock system are controlled and any discrepancies addressed and resolved.
- Manage control measures to ensure mistakes, inaccuracies and discrepancies are highlighted, addressed and resolved. Anomalies in stock levels/values are to be reported to the Lodge Manager/General Manager.
- Submit all property stock takes in conjunction with the HOD to the Admin Manager within the required time limits.
- Ensure that HODs are allocating stock items on invoices, to the correct inventory accounts.
- Ensure that stock items being purchased are at the best value for the company, by running regular comparisons between suppliers.
- To follow up on feedback from guests regarding activities
FINANCIAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE CONTROL
- Ensure that all Lodge administration is adhered to and delivered on timeously.
- Compile Lodge month end reports when necessary in collaboration with the Lodge Manager
STAFF TRAINING
- Ensure that standards are met and exceeded
- Deliver training to staff
- Work with HR to ensure the development and well-being of staff.
Requirements, Qualifications and Skills:
- Excellent Interpersonal Skills
- At least 2 years management experience in similar role
- 5* Luxury lodge experience
- NQF Level 4+ (Matric),
- Hospitality related certification
- Food & Beverage knowledge
- Administration and financial controlling competence
- Able to multi-task
- Able to work accurately under pressure
- Computer literate at advanced level : MS Office, Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work effectively as part of a team and independently
- Drivers License
