Description
Our client based in Durban North is looking for an IT Business Analyst with sound knowledge of SDLC.
Main Purpose of Job:
- Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC): Perform functions related to the effective, accurate and timeous development of new systems from inception through to testing and implementation.
- Project Management: Perform basic project management duties to assist in the delivery of IT projects. Regularly report on the progress of projects to allow the IT Manager to manage project delivery.
- Business Process Design: Investigate, document and analyse core business processes. Based on previous activities, provide recommendations for improving the business processes and document the “To Be” processes.
Duties & Responsibilities
SDLC:
- Use various methods to develop and document of end user requirements for new systems.
- Monitor developments efforts to ensure that development efforts are in line with end user requirements.
- Test delivered components to ensure:
- Data is processed appropriately and accurately
- Previously identified system errors were resolved
- The components adhere to the requirements
- The usability of components, where applicable, conform to acceptable standards
- Monitor and report on the progress of development efforts to ensure products are delivered on-time and as required.
- Maintain the various development and testing environments to ensure they are ready for testing of newly developed functions.
- Train end users on newly developed functionality and assist in the development of training materials, including training videos.
Project Management:
- Monitor progress of IT projects and report back to the IT Manager on project progress.
- Assist in the development of project timelines, project documentation and project progress reporting.
- Assist in the collection and reporting of project financial progress against project budgets
Business Process Design
- Where applicable, document existing business processes where Management have identified opportunities for improvement. Present the documentation to Management for verification.
- Analyse documented processes for opportunities for improvement.
- Develop remediation plans to resolve control and operational deficiencies and assist in the implementation of improvements.
- Monitor adherence to newly implemented processes by the business to ensure new processes are adopted and maintained. Where relevant adjust processes to further improve process flow.
Other Duties
- Assist in regular IT Department duties where needed: support end users, answer queries, attend meetings, prepare for store openings, and attend store openings.
- Assist in the preparation, filing and storage of departmental documentation.
- Assist in the preparation of IT policies and procedures, IT checklists and other IT materials.
