Our client based in Ugie is currently looking for an Assistant Forester to join their progressive team! The Assistant Forester will be based in-field, in Ugie.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• National Diploma in Forestry or higher
• Forestry experience will be advantageous (2 -3 years)
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to communicate in English
• Good management skills (managing 4 people)
• Willing to work infield
• Reasonable level of fitness
• Computer literate
• Ability to work with a smartphone and other electronic data capturing devices
• Ability to read maps
• Ability to read and complete forms
• Basic understanding of Statistics or Biometry

KEY RESULT AREAS:

• Assist with compiling mark for thinning, thinning control, and enumeration APO and budget.
• Assist with compiling and managing Research Program.
• Close supervision of the team to ensure the quality of work is maintained at a high standard.
• Liaise with Harvesting and Silviculture staff to ensure that the work done meets their expectations.
• Recording of work progress on Microforest.
