The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) is looking for self-motivated individual to ensure SANBI’s employees are remunerated according to agreements and legislation, manage employee’s benefits according to internal policies.

This position requires a degree in in Financial Management, Financial Sciences, Accounting Science or equivalent qualification with NQF 7. Honours or equivalent degree at NQF 8 will be an added advantage.  This position also requires 6 years’ experience in relevant field, 3 years of which should be in supervisory position(s).

The following competencies are required for the candidates to be successful in this position: Some experience in customer service would be an advantage; Knowledge of Public Finance Management Act, Treasury Regulations, Generally Recognised Accounting Practice; Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; Financial report writing and in possession of a valid driver’s licence with at least one-year practical driving experience will be advantageous and a willingness to travel.

Key Performance Responsibilities include:

  • Provide assistance with the compliance and communication regarding remuneration and benefits processes;
  • Manage employee benefits and analyse financial information;
  • Manage Personnel and Salaries management system (PERSAL);
  • Oversee payroll process;
  • Human capital development and transformation; and
  • Implement and drive change and transformation.
