Description
We are looking for an Analytical Chemist to join a Lab Situated in PTA East.
Role Description:
An Analytical Chemist is a scientist that studies and tests the chemical composition and behaviors of many different substances.
Duties & Responsibilities
Duties:
- Preform Sample preparation and Instrumental Analyses on Environmental Samples and other matrices
- Operate Lab Instruments such as: GC-MS, GC-MS/ MS and GC-FID
- Provide analytical support within the company
- Preform Mathematical Calculations and Statistical Analyses for test results, using both manual and computer-based methods
Desired Experience & Qualification
Requirements:
- BSc. Chemistry
- 1/3 years Gas Chromatology Experience
- Valid Drivers License and own Vehicle
- ISO 17025 Experience

Personal attributes needed to succeed in this position
- Knowledge of approved analytical Chemical Methods – personal computer operation and statistical methods used in analytical data
- Skills in manipulating and operating lab equipment and instruments
- Preforming instrumental methods of analysis in recognizing atypical data and applying judgement to data interpretation and in trouble shooting analytical procedures
- Ability to keep records and present oral and written reports of work done
- Able to work effectively with others and function independently
- Adjust analytical schedules to accommodate emergencies and changing conditions
- Ability to communicate efficiently with others and to assimilate and comprehend information in a manner consistent with essential job functions
- Sense of urgency, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
