Description

We are looking to recruit a Analyst (Customer Insights) to work within our Merchandise Analytics department. The role will be based at Clicks Head Office in Cape Town and will report to the Campaign and Data Analytics Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities

Job Purpose:
  • To assist the CMI Department to meet the business performance objectives by generating customer and market insights in order to deliver world class business performance tracking, customer loyalty data analytics and market understanding.
Job Objectives:
  • To analyse market data to track Clicks overall competitiveness in terms of, pricing, promotional pricing, number of promotional items and conclude extrapolation and deductions.
  • To design quantitative research and conduct statistical analysis using statistical tools to deliver on the CMI research plan.
  • To perform customer data analysis (e.g. Clubcard) for the Merchandise Department to support range and category reviews, identify customer segment opportunities and assisting in understanding customer shopping habits.
  • To mine the Clicks customer and other data bases in order to extract insights for specified projects using a multi method research approach.
  • To assist in meeting the CMI department's operational plan through capacity building of research capabilities within budget.
  • To support the CMI Department’s strategic vision by disseminating research reports throughout the business to key stakeholders and by taking responsibility for the central repository of insights reports in order to promote customer centricity in the business.
  • To report on market performance/ profiles; customer segments, satisfaction and shopping habits; competitor landscape and marketing mix elements as part of monthly business performance tracking.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Education:
  • Relevant Bachelor's degree (Statistics, Economics, Finance) depending on level of experience
Experience:
Essential:
  • 1-3 years data analytic experience;
  • 1-3 years CRM experience
Desirable:
  • Retail experience
Knowledge:
Essential:
  • Statistical packages;
  • Customer modelling;
  • Statistical methodology (e.g. forecasting, extrapolations, factor analysis);
  • Interpretation of microeconomic data;
  • Retail CRM;
  • Knowledge of proprietary database/data management and analytics tools
Desirable:
  • Quantitative and qualitative consumer research
Skills:
Essential:
