Description
A well-established Freight and Logistics company is looking for an Airfreight Import Controller for their Johannesburg operation.
Qualifications:
- Matric
- Diploma / Preference Degree in Logistics - not a necessity.
Experience:
- 5 – 10 years’ experience in Logistics, specifically airfreight
- Very knowledgeable in all aspects of logistics - imports/exports, clearing, forwarding and warehousing
- Hands-on operational experience would be preferable

- Prepared to work overtime and not afraid of increased workload or pressure.
Responsibilities:
- Intelligent strong client interface and management a priority
- Managing support staff and ensuring good quality control and strong communications
- Track and trace of shipments – extensive client communication
- Pre-costing and invoicing, including quality control before all documents are forward to clients
- Debtors queries, including all client queries or problem solving or advice/support
- Managing all aspects of import clearing
- Checking registration and documents to complete import check list for customs department
- Assisting team when necessary
- Planning delivery of air freight cargo
- Closing file after delivery
- Airline Pro forma claims
Computer experience required:
- Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, internet usage
- Cargowise experience an advantage
