Duties & Responsibilities

Due to a rapid expansion and business growth over the last year our client is looking to supplement their trading team.The role will report to the MD/CEO, in charge of developing and managing a physical transactions trading book in oilseeds in the SADEC region.

Who can apply for this job:

Candidates who are currently in the agri commodity trading business as physical traders of maize and other grains who are willing to learn and grow with this local division of a large international company which specializes in Oilseeds

Duties:

Working with the MD :

  • Track international and domestic prices parities,
  • follow up weather and crop developments,
  • Analyze regional markets trends through the building of local supply and demand scenarios

In close coordination with companies’ international trading offices

  • forecast potential market moves,
  • anticipate cross-commodities arbitrages and physical transaction opportunities, on import, export and/or on domestic basis.

 

Responsibilities:

Build and entertain good relationships with key industry customers, suppliers and service providers (brokers, transporters) through frequent visits and regular market information telephone calls.

He would suggest and implement hedging operations, FX covers, and risk mitigating procedures. He might have to negotiate costings, freights, and would get involved in trade-finance issues, and credit appraisals.

Travel

Successful candidates might have to travel up to one week to 10 days per month (domestic and/or Africa)

 

Package & Remuneration

Negotiable depending on experience and qualifications
