Our Client requires the service of a suitably qualified / experienced SHEQ Co-ordinator

POSITION: Permanent

COMMENCEMENT: As soon as possible

Role reports into: COO

Duties & Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

 

Monitoring & Executing the detailed production activities in plant – A-line and Packing. Execution of daily shift-wise production planning, coordination and control of manufacturing processes. Ensure effective and optimum utilization of company resources viz. man, machine and materials. Continuously improve process, products and people.

 

JOB OBJECTIVES:

 

General

  • Member of the Site Management
  • Drive and develop the company vs targets (KPI’s) and plans set up by the Regional Management
  • Set and develop the organization/staff vs the defined targets/goals
  • Prepare budget and follow up cost center reporting (related the department)
  • Prepare and follow-up on Capex (related the department)
  • Design and continuously improve necessary documentation such as SOP’s, work instructions and records for the Quality and Technical Service Department and ensure efficient reporting system
  • Continuously seek cost improvement initiatives within the department in alignment with cost saving program
  • Issue non conformity (NC) report wherever applicable
  • All HSE-related topics within the department
  • Develop and maintain 5S within the department
  • Encourage staff participation in kaizen and suggestion scheme – Head Office  JoinPerformance Program
  • Execute and monitor the daily production plan to ensure that production targets are met and Roll out Best Practices and Shop Floor Improvement Programmes, in accordance with objectives and spirit of each initiative.

Planning

  • Execute monthly production plan in accordance with the sales forecast & orders received
  • Daily scheduling of productions order in alignment with Planning Department
  • Activity planning, work scheduling, assigning responsibilities to team leaders & workmen, and monitoring to meet the production schedule with resource optimization
  • Ensure proper distribution of team leaders and workmen, provide proper guidance for optimum productivity and efficiency

Production

  • Execution of productions order according to plan – risk of not meeting targets must be aligned with planner and management accordingly
  • Encourage workmen participation in kaizen and suggestion scheme – Head Office  JoinPerformance Program
  • Together with Management and Maintenance Department follow the regular maintenance plan (TPM) and ensure timely and proper executed

Reporting

  • Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing data and trends
  • Study monthly consumption report of all the resources used in production.

Q-HSEE

  • Comply Quality, Environment & Energy, and Health & Safety Management Systems of company and vs local rules and regulations
  • Ensure that the proper operating instructions and equipment specifications for production activities are in place, proper training and guidance is given to the team members so that they are well equipped to accomplish the production goals within desired quality standards
  • Monitor the segregation of wastage and ensure it is put properly in the designated scrap bins
  • In case of emergency, immediately inform seniors

Improvements

  • Develop and improve the processes to meet company targets and KPI’s like Material GAP, OEE, Productivity etc while maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems

Authority

  • According to Head Office  AF authority matrix
  • Stop production if obvious quality risk
  • If necessary change or modify SOP and work instructions
  • Start/stop relevant improvement project if none-conformance to quality system
  • Enforce discipline among production staff

 

 

Valid SA Driver’s license required and clean criminal / credit record.

Desired Experience & Qualification

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Matric
  • Graduate in mechanical / metallurgical / industrial / production engineering
  • Proven experience as production manager or similar managerial role
  • Experience manufacturing operations
  • People management experience and management of successful teams.
  •  Understanding plant maintenance and production planning.
  • Good understanding of SHEQ processes and procedures is a requirement for this position
